Coronavirus service disruptions and updates
We are working hard to ensure that vital services are maintained and that our most vulnerable residents are protected. However due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, and the resulting pressure on staff, we have no option but to restrict and amend the provision of some services.
Status correct at 07 March 2022.
The below is the current status of some of our most popular/highly used services and we will update this on a regular basis. Things are changing rapidly and we thank you for your patience.
To make this as clear as possible, we have rated these Red, Amber or Green, like traffic lights:
- Green – Service is operating normally
- Amber – Some reduction in service, or service is being delivered differently eg over the telephone instead of face to face
- Red – Service is closed
For more information please see our births, deaths and marriages coronavirus page.
|GREEN||Appointments can be booked online on our register a birth page. There are longer waiting times for birth registration appointments due to the number of unregistered births during the pandemic lockdowns. The 42 day rule to register a birth is not applicable at this time.|
|GREEN||We will be notified of all deaths needing to be registered and will contact the next of kin to arrange an appointment. From 25.3.2022 we will return to face to face death registration appointments as registrations can no longer be made over the phone. More information on death registrations.|
