Covid-19 Council services and updates

Coronavirus service disruptions and updates

We are working hard to ensure that vital services are maintained and that our most vulnerable residents are protected. However due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, and the resulting pressure on staff, we have no option but to restrict and amend the provision of some services.

Service updates

Status correct at 07 March 2022.

The below is the current status of some of our most popular/highly used services and we will update this on a regular basis. Things are changing rapidly and we thank you for your patience.

To make this as clear as possible, we have rated these Red, Amber or Green, like traffic lights:

  • Green – Service is operating normally
  • Amber – Some reduction in service, or service is being delivered differently eg over the telephone instead of face to face
  • Red – Service is closed

Registrars Service

GREEN Appointments can be booked online on our register a birth page. There are longer waiting times for birth registration appointments due to the number of unregistered births during the pandemic lockdowns. The 42 day rule to register a birth is not applicable at this time.
