Learning Disability Action Plan for Adults 2022-25

Newham has worked with people who have learning disabilities and the people who support them to write a Learning Disability Action Plan 2022-25.

This plan will help Newham be a fairer place for people with learning disabilities and those who support them. It will help us to plan what we need to do to support people to live good lives and thrive.

Here is a video with residents telling you more about the plan: Newham Learning Disability Action Plan Summary

The outcomes

The Action plan has 6 outcomes and “I” statements to keep residents with a Learning Disability at the heart of everything we do.

The Outcomes

1 – Heard and Valued

  • “I am treated with dignity and respect.
  • I can access information and advice when I need it to help me understand my options and make informed decisions.
  • I am helped to make my voice heard about things that affect my life.”

This is a three-year plan and we will update residents on the progress every year. Many Newham organisations will be involved in meeting its goals. We want people with learning disabilities and the people who support them to continue to be involved and help us meet the plan’s goals.
