Invite the Mayor

The Mayor attends a number of events each week and loves to visit local businesses alongside the range of voluntary, community and faith sector organisations who do such vital work in the borough supporting our communities. If you would like to invite the Mayor to visit or take part in an event you are hosting, please complete the Invite the Mayor form, giving as much notice, and as much information as possible.

Just to add, the Mayor tries her best to accept as many invitations as possible but due to the large number she can’t accept them all. If she is unable to attend, she is always happy to ask one of the deputy Mayor’s or cabinet members to attend on her behalf.

Contact the Mayor

Due to the large number of emails received, it’s not possible for the Mayor to respond personally to all the messages sent. Instead, Council officers working with the Mayor will normally respond on her behalf.

If you are getting in touch about an immediate issue, including reporting damp and mould, the best way to do so is directly via the Council website or via phone on 020 8430 2000.

If it is an emergency issue requiring support of the Police, London Fire Brigade or London Ambulance Service please dial 999. If it is a general NHS health matter please visit the NHS website or contact the NHS via phone on 111.

If you’ve already logged an issue with us online, please allow up to 10 working days for us to respond. We’ll try and respond within 10 days, but sometimes it may take us longer if issues are complex or at times of high demand. You can also contact your local councillor to raise local issues or raise concerns.

There are some issues that the Mayor and councillors are unable to get involved in as they are dealt with through a formal appeals process. This includes:

Council Tax and valuation band appeals

Housing benefit appeals

Disagreeing with a Penalty Charge Notice

Commenting on a Planning Application

Schools admissions appeals

Reporting an issue to the Council

If you’re getting in touch to report a new issue to the Council or to apply for a Council service, the best way to get this resolved is to contact the relevant Council service responsible. You can do this through the Council’s website, simply and quickly.

For example, you can:

Request a Housing Repair

Apply for homeless prevention, advice and assistance

Request a housing register decision review

Report fly-tipping

Report a missed bin collection

See the full list of Council services available online by selecting what you want to do:

Report something

Apply for something

Pay something

Give us feedback or make a complaint

We welcome feedback on our services, our website, and your experience of using them, whether that’s positive or not.

You can give a compliment, make a suggestion or make a general enquiry.

Find out how to make a complaint. The Mayor is unable to get involved in an issue that is being considered as part of the Council’s complaints procedure.
