Temporary accommodation information

Accommodation charges for your temporary accommodation

You can pay your charges by direct debit, standing order or by one-off payments online. You may also pay by phone using a debit or credit card or you can pay at a bank.

If you are having trouble paying your accommodation charges, or you have questions about these payments, please contact the Housing Income and Collection Team.

Issues in your temporary accommodation

If you are in temporary accommodation provided by Newham Council because you were homeless and you are now having issues in this accommodation like harassment, noise or you are being evicted please use our online Homelessness Enquiry Form to let us know.

Repairs in your temporary accommodation

Your landlord is NOT Newham Council or Local Space

You should report any repair issues to your landlord or managing agent first and co-operate with them to resolve the problem.

Your landlord IS Newham Council or Local Space

General repair 

If your landlord is Newham Council or Local Space and you want to report a repair please use Newham's online Repair Form, except in the situations specified below.

If your landlord is Local Space and the repair is about a gas boiler or electric emersion heater or anything connected to these like heating, radiators, thermostats etc. you need to call Suresave Compliance South on 020 8269 4500

Emergency repair

If your landlord is Newham Council and the repair is a gas, water, electric or other health or safety emergency please call 020 8430 2000

If your landlord is Local Space and the repair is electric (except electric emersion heaters and anything connected to it), water or other health or safety emergency please call 020 8430 2000

Communal area repair

If the repair issue is in a communal area, for example lifts or door entry system, please call 020 8430 2000
