Where you can park with a Disabled Resident parking permit
A Disabled Resident parking permit is ONLY valid in the Resident Parking Zone (RPZ) where you live. In this zone you can park in:
- disabled resident parking bays
- permit holder only bays
- shared use bays (spaces for permit holders and paid parking)
If you are parked in a standard disabled parking space, you MUST display your Blue Badge. A Disabled Resident parking permit is NOT the same as a Blue Badge.
Check the road signs to ensure the vehicle is parked in the correct location.
Find more information on parking signs and rules.
Any vehicle breaching a parking or driving rule or parked without a valid permit, may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and possibly be towed.
If you live in a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN)
A Disabled Resident parking permit does NOT allow you to pass through a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) restriction. A restriction is marked by planted bollards and signs displaying restricted road access. Driving through a restricted street may incur a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
If you live in West Ham Park LTN and hold a Blue Badge, you may be able to apply for an Access permit.
If you live on a Healthy School Street (HSS)
If your Disabled Resident parking permit is registered to your address within a Healthy School Street (HSS) zone, you can access that road during prohibited hours.
Access is ONY valid for the Healthy School Street on which you live.
You do not need to do anything. Your vehicle will automatically have access granted through the permit.
If you live nearby Browning Road Bridge
Disabled Resident permit holders who live at addresses in the approved list, will automatically be granted access drive over Browning Road Bridge in the southbound direction only.
