The Universal Class

The Universal Class programme offers:

  • over 500 free courses including yoga, digital photography, computer basics and accounting
  • a chance to learn in your own time
  • expert instructors.

To get started, set up a free account on the Universal Class website. Simply enter your library card number then choose a user name and password.

Easy and fully comprehensive step-by-step guides to:

To get started, go to the Universal Skills website and enter in your library card number.

Atomic Training

Atomic Training offers video-based tutorials to help you learn how to use more than 500 of today's most popular computer software applications on a PC or Mac. 

You can also learn how to get more out of your mobile device.

To get started, set up a free account on the Atomic Training website. Simply enter your library card number then choose a user name and password.

 

British Citizenship test

Life in Great Britain

Life in Great Britain covers content from the Home Office’s "Life in the UK - A journey into Citizenship”.

If you are about to take your British Citizenship test, this is an ideal way for you to prepare and check if you are ready.

Content includes:

  • speech
  • informative glossary
  • other tests
  • complete assessment.

You will need your library card to sign up to the course.

Go Citizen

Go Citizen is an online study resource for candidates preparing for the British Citizenship test.

Content includes:

  • an online version of the latest official study materials licensed from the Home Office
  • hundreds of practice test questions in the same format as the official test
  • additional interactive learning resources and teaching aids.

Simply enter your library card number then create a profile using your email address.

 

Theory Test Pro

Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory tests for all vehicle categories. It contains all the official test questions from the DSA tests.

To use the site you will be need to create a profile using your email address.

 

Newspapers and magazines

We have an online subscription to NewsBank UK & Ireland.

NewsBank provides full-text content of online local and regional newspapers.

Each newspaper offers a variety of viewpoints on local and world issues.

Go to the NewsBank website and and log in using your library card number and pin (which you can get from your local library).

You can access the online information resources through the London Libraries Consortium website. Simply log in using your library card number and pin (which you can get from your local library).

Access to Research

Discover a world of published academic research at your local library. Access to Research gives free, walk-in access to over 15million academic articles.

Ancestry library

Discover your family history and build a family tree with the world's largest genealogy website. Search birth records, census data, obituaries and more. Start discovering today.
