Please note that over the Christmas 2025 and New Year period normal operational hours will apply except on the following dates:

• Wednesday 24 December – 08:00 – 16:00
• Thursday 25 December – Closed
• Friday 26 December – 08:00 – 18:00
• Sunday 28 December – 08:00 – 18:00
• Wednesday 31 December - 08:00 – 16:00
• Thursday 1 January 2026 - 08:00 – 18:00

Request a vehicle removal 

Please note that over the Christmas and New Year period normal operational hours will apply except on the following dates when the hours during which a vehicle can be removed are as follows:

• Sunday 21 December  - 8am – 4pm
• Wednesday 24 December  - 8am – 2pm
• Thursday 25 December – Closed
• Friday 26 December – 8am – 4pm
• Sunday 28 December  - 8am – 4pm
• Wednesday 31 December  - 8am – 2pm
• Thursday 1 January 2026 8am – 4pm

The car pound may close later than usual on a Sunday or bank holiday if there is:

• a West Ham United home football match
• an event at London Stadium

Funeral Parking

Apply for a Funeral parking adaptation – Newham Council

In the event of a bereavement we can arrange for a temporary relaxation of parking enforcement.  

In order to arrange this please email Parking.EnforcementRequests@newham.gov.uk with: 

• a copy of the death certificate or
• letter from the funeral directors with the address of where the funeral is taking place or leaving from.

We will arrange for a relaxation of parking restrictions on the day of the funeral at the single and specific road as agreed with those applying for the temporary relaxation. Please note the relaxation agreed will only apply on the day of the funeral and at the agreed location. This relaxation will not apply to vehicles that are parked causing an obstruction or dangerously parked and these vehicles will still be subject to enforcement.

Bank holiday and Public Holiday parking

Bank holiday and public holiday parking – Event days and bank holiday parking – Newham Council

25 December (Christmas Day), 26 December (Boxing Day) and 1 January (New Year’s Day) are classed as Public Holidays and some parking restrictions still apply on these days and are enforceable. Important Notice: Suspension Applications Deadline

The last day to submit parking bay suspension applications is 17 December 2025. Any applications received after this date may not be processed until 2 January 2026, when normal service resumes. Please note that a minimum of 5 working days’ notice is required for processing suspension requests.

To avoid delays, we strongly recommend submitting your application before the deadline.
