If you are employed at a business in an Industrial Parking Zone (IPZ) in Newham, to be able to park on the street in the IPZ during the restricted hours, you are required to apply for an Industrial parking permit.
An Industrial parking permit only allows parking in bays within the specified Industrial Parking Zone (IPZ) that the permit has been issued for.
Industrial permits can be purchased for a period of either:
- 12 months
- 1 month (with the option for automatic renewal renew up to one year)
Eligibility
To be eligible for an Industrial parking permit:
- your employer's address must be within the IPZ and must be non-residential
- the business address used for the application must not be in a "car-free" development
- your vehicle must be registered in the UK (foreign vehicles are not accepted)
Costs
Industrial parking permits are charged based on the emissions of the vehicle.

How to apply
You will need:
A letter from your employer on headed paper and dated within last three months confirming:
- your employment
- your vehicle registration
- explanation of why the vehicle needs to park in the Industrial Parking Zone (IPZ)
Handwritten documents are not accepted.
Proof of business address where you will be using the permit. For example, either:
- an official lease agreement in the business name
- current national non-domestic rate demand
- bank statement dated within last three months
- utility bill dated within last three months

Vehicle Documents
If the vehicle is a company vehicle, you must provide:
- UK Vehicle Registration Document (V5C / log book)
OR - lease/hire agreement in your name and address (the agreement should include the Companies House registration number for the hire/lease company)
OR - A letter from your employer on headed paper, dated within the last three months, confirming your employment, name, address, vehicle registration, and authorisation to drive the company vehicle.

- Register for a business account on MiPermit Newham, or log in.
- Go to 'Buy digital permits' in your MiPermit account.
- Click on 'Industrial Parking Permit' and complete the application form.
- Upload required documents.
- Make payment using a credit or debit card.

What happens next
Once you have submitted your application and made payment, you will receive an email confirmation the same day.
Your parking permit is then automatically activated (from the date you requested it to start).
Industrial parking permits are virtual, you do not need to display a permit on your vehicle.
Further checks will be carried out after the application is submitted. If any details are found to be incorrect, the permit may be cancelled and only part refunded.
Industrial parking permits must be renewed annually.
