When are Healthy School Streets enforced
Healthy School Streets operate for set periods during school start and finish times, only during the term-time dates shown on the council website. Please refer to the term dates in the link to become familiar with Newham’s term dates and school holidays.
They generally do not operate during school holidays or weekends, but may operate on school inset days or during school holidays if these differ from the dates on the council website.
Please note, the Healthy School Streets signage will be visible all year round and will not be closed during school holidays, even when the restrictions are not operational.
The duration of each of the morning and afternoon access restrictions is usually an hour, but may be longer for schemes that include more than one school or have staggered start and finish times.
All the restriction times are clearly shown on the entry signs of each Healthy School Streets zone. These are also available here.
