Phase Two Schools

The second group of nine schools have been launched under experimental traffic orders within LB Newham for:

  • Sheringham Nursery & Sheringham Primary
  • Park Primary
  • Hartley Primary
  • Brampton Primary
  • Kay Rowe Nursery
  • Southern Road Primary, Plaistow Primary & Lister Community School

Where and when are the Phase Two timed access zones?

All restrictions run at morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, Monday to Friday, during term time only, but weekday timings differ slightly at each school.

Residents with vehicles or motorcycles registered to an address within the zones, emergency services, approved Blue Badge Holders (See FAQs) and black cabs with hackney carriage licenses are able to drive in the zones during these times.

Southern Road Primary, Plaistow Primary & Lister Community School

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Southern Primary, Plaistow Primary & Lister Community School; From June 28, 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zones between 8:00 and 9.30am and 2:30 and 4:00pm:

  • Carter Road
  • St Mary’s Road
  • Queen’s Road (between Western Road and Queen’s Road West)
  • Queen’s Road West
  • Southern Road (between Edinburgh Road and Western Road)
  • Northern Road
  • Eastern Road
  • Junction Road
  • Samson Street (between Old Street and Southern Road)
  • Kings Court , Prince Terrace and Queens Terrace
  • Plaistow Park Road, Watson Street

Sheringham Nursery and Primary

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Sheringham Nursery and Primary; From April 26, 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zone between 8:30 and 9.30am and 2:45pm and 3:45pm:

  • Sheringham Avenue (between Romford Road and Wolferton Road)

Park Primary School

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Park Primary; From April 26, 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zones between 8:30 and 9.30am and 2:30 and 4pm:

  • Ham Park Road (between Warwick Road and Fairland Road)
  • Dyson Road, Fairland Road (between Vicarage Road and Vaughan Road)
  • Mathews Park Avenue, Eleanor Road, Vaughan Road
  • Faraday Road
  • Bolton Road 

Hartley Primary School

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Hartley Primary School; From April 26, 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zones between 8:30 and 9.30am and 2:30 and 3:30pm:

  • Hartley Avenue
  • Winter Avenue
  • Campbell Road
  • Wakefield Street (between Winter Avenue and Aintree Avenue) 

Brampton Primary School

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Brampton Primary School; From May 3, 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zones between 8:30 and 9.30am and 2:45 and 3:45pm:

  • Brampton Road (between Denbigh Road and Haldane Road)
  • Frinton Road (between Brampton Road and Beverley Road)
  • Masterman Road (between Brampton Road and Burford Road)
  • Chesley Gardens (between Haldane Road and Brampton Road)
  • Lichfield Road (between Hatherley Gardens and Brampton Road)
  • Boston Road 

Kay Rowe Nursery School

The Healthy School Streets scheme for Kay Rowe Nursery School; From May 17 2021, the below will become pedestrian and cycle only zones between 8.30 and 10am and 3 and 4pm:

  • Osborne Road (between Woodgrange Road and Richmond Road) 

How can I share my views on Phase Two?

The timed access restrictions will be implemented using an Experimental Traffic Order which can run between 6 and 18 months. During the first 6 months residents can formally comment on the scheme.
