Statutory Consultation
Any new Healthy School Streets schemes will be implemented via Experimental Traffic Orders (ETOs). ETOs are statutory legal documents, which will allow us to introduce access restrictions to roads within a HSS scheme for a trial period of up to 18 months.
The first 6 months of the trial period forms part of the statutory consultation and people will be able to provide feedback on the scheme during this time.
Following the trial period, the scheme will be reviewed and a decision will be made on whether it will become permanent, if design changes are needed or whether it will be removed.
