What is a community neighbourhood?

In community neighbourhoods, community lead councillors work with volunteers and residents to run activities and events and to make change in the area.

Activities include:
  • starting up community gardens
  • running fun days and street parties
  • starting up clubs and courses
  • building residents groups.

We hold coffee mornings every month in libraries across the borough.

Come along and get help to:
  • start up a club or course
  • build a new community group
  • develop new skills
  • improve your health and wellbeing
  • make new friends
  • be more involved in your community.
Each coffee morning is themed so you can chat to different groups and find out what support is available locally.

Visit your local library page for more information, including details of other library events, or email chsocialcare@newham.gov.uk
