Local Implementation Plan consultation 2019

Transport for London (TfL) provides funding to London boroughs to implement transport schemes in their boroughs.

As a condition of this funding, the council is required by the GLA Act to set out how it intends to implement the Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy at a local level in the London Borough of Newham, by means of a policy document and a costed delivery plan, known as a Local Implementation Plan (LIP).
This LIP document must respond to the required outcomes set out in the Mayor of London's Transport Strategy while also recognising the local transport needs and aspirations of Newham residents, businesses and visitors.

The council has developed its draft LIP document following an extensive consultation exercise on Highways, Transport and Parking involving a number of public assembly events and an online consultation using the POLIS engagement platform as well as correspondence from residents, stakeholders and elected councillors.

The closing date for comments and observations from all stakeholders was Wednesday 10 April.
The Council is required to produce a supporting Strategic Environmental Assessment and Equalities Impact Assessment for the Local Implementation Plan, which we consulted on last month.

These two draft documents are available to view now.
Any comments or observations are welcome from members of the public or key stakeholders until Friday 31 May, by emailing or by writing to us at the following address:
